Finding the right music for your set is essential when trying to make it as a DJ.
There are dozens of websites where you can get loads of tracks, edits, and remixes; However, some of them are free while some others require you to pay for a monthly subscription.
In this post I will list both the free and the paid services, starting with the paid/subscription-based ones first which are commonly referred to as record pools.
Digital DJ Pool
Best overall since it’s got the widest range of genres and songs with a pricing model as well.
BPM Supreme
Multiple music versions of the following formats: Clean, Dirty, Instrumental, Acapella, etc.
SlickEQ
Highest club selection, professionally curated songs, custom edits, and simple pricing of $35/mo.
If you want to skip directly to the websites that offer free downloads then you can do so by clicking this link;
Let’s get started…
Top Record Pools for DJs
A music pool or DJ record pool is essentially a method of music distribution that allows DJs to receive promotional music to play in nightclubs and other events such as weddings, festivals, and on the radio by paying a monthly subscription.
Here are the best ones!
Digital DJ Pool
Digital DJ Pool instantly stands out because of how clean the interface looks, as well as for its ease of use.
It features over 150.000 different songs in about 40 genres, and all of them have multiple versions; from clean to mashup.
All of the files available on the website are tagged for artist, title, version, and genre, as well as BPM and Key, and they even have cue points that help you save time and improve the workflow.
Now, they also include a mobile app that allows you to access the record pool from any location, as well as listen to music, build crates, and refine the playlists.
Additionally, the latest trending tracks are always up-to-date and you can view the monthly top 50 charts and download them.
One cool pro about Digital DJ Pool is that they offer you the option to submit your music to be promoted and they claim that “With Digital DJ Pool your music will reach over 10,000 DJs and over 300 FM Radio stations in over 150 countries around the world”.
You will also get feedback on how your songs are doing, who is playing them, and where they are located.
As far as the pricing goes, you can pay monthly or yearly. Here is how much it would cost you;
As you can see, they even offer a 5-day trial for just $1 which is pretty cool!

Professional DJs choose BPM Supreme because of the quality and quantity of our catalog. The BPM Supreme HQ is located in Sunny San Diego, CA with many satellite offices and employees active around the world.
They provide Hip Hop, R&B, Electronic Dance Music, Latin, Urban, Pop, Top 40, Electronic Dance Remixes, Dubstep, Trap, Twerk, Tropical, Regional, Country, Rock, Reggae, Dancehall, and Classics from the 80s, 90s, and up to this day.

iDJPool
iDJPool was originally founded in January of 1985 as the Illinois Music Pool, servicing DJs 12-inch Vinyl records.
Now iDJPool features one of the largest record pools out there, and contrary to most other ones, which focus mainly on EDM and hip-hop, iDJPool offers a lot more genres like Dance, Urban, Rock, Pop, Country, AC, Christian, Gospel, Jazz & Holiday, all with an MP3 quality of 320k.
The reason I mention this is because I think that it’s the ideal choice for any wedding DJs that want to have the wide repertoire of music that weddings and similar events require.
Now, don’t get too hung up on the way the website looks since it could definitely use a visual update, but the tracks you can download and the service provided are just great.
The prices range all the way from $15 to $50 a month, depending on the type of music you actually need.
The great thing about iDJPool is that they offer unlimited downloads with an option to download in bulk if you want, plus you’re not required to rate/comment or do any of those annoying things.

Club Killers
Club Killers is known for being one of the best pools for club music out there.
They have the highest club selection available and they also provide some awesome remixes as well as some awesome custom edits which are only available through their service; You can’t get them anywhere else.
Club Killers also has a huge selection of video files which, if you’re a video DJ mixer as well, can really come in handy.
A huge list of curated playlists is also available where you can select different ones depending on the genre, allowing you to quickly find songs that work well together.
Just like most record pools, you will also have access to the trending tracks, which are basically the tracks that have been downloaded the most over a certain period of time.
Just like most record pools, you will also have access to the trending tracks, which are basically the tracks that have been downloaded the most over a certain period of time.
Sadly, they don’t offer a mobile version/app like most other record pools.
Now, the CK record pool is mainly aimed at American audiences: What I mean by this is that the music genres available are mostly EDM, Hip-Hop, etc., and not so much reggaeton, and those other more “Latin” styles.
As far as Pricing goes, Club Killers gives you access to their record pool for $35 a month.
Important note: You have to put in an application and then join from there. Before doing this, you won’t be able to access the pool, not even to see what they offer.

DJCity
DJCity is one of the biggest players in the business and they provide a huge list of tracks and remixes over a variety of genres.
The tracks that you will be able to find on this website are extremely fresh and new, but if you’re looking for classic songs to remix, then maybe look somewhere else since their license only allows them to promote new music.
DJCity specializes in club and radio music for DJs, including hip-hop, house, R&B, Latin, trap, twerk, deep house, reggae, dancehall, and other popular genres.
Even though the website is easy to navigate, you can also download a desktop app as well as a mobile app, which is certainly very useful to have quick access to music even while traveling.
Note: As far as the download limit goes, it’s “Unlimited”; You can download as many songs as you like, however you can download the same version (Clean, dirty, etc.) only three times.
Pricing; DJCity charges $90 every three months.

Direct Music Service
DMS is an excellent alternative for anyone who needs both new and fresh tracks, as well as classics and throwbacks.
They have an immense catalog of genres that certainly fit almost anyone’s needs.
One Pro about DMS is that they accept requests, meaning that if you don’t see a track you need an edit for in their library, you can request it and their team will do whatever they can to get it done (if possible).
Just like some of the other record pools on this list, DMS also features a free mobile app that is available for iOS and Android devices, which lets you get work done even while on the go.
Now, what about videos?
Well, DMS has three different payment plans, and depending on which one you choose you’ll have access to videos, or you won’t;
If you have signed up for the Pro Monthly or Pro Yearly subscriptions, which are the most expensive plans, a complimentary Pro account to SmashVidz.com is included with your subscription, giving you access to videos.
Lastly, let’s talk about the download limits;
Only the Pro plan provides you with unlimited downloads. However, the starter and semi-pro plans only allow for 40- and 80 downloads a month respectively.
My Advice: If you’re completely new and you absolutely want to try out DMS, then go with one month of the Pro plan and download everything you can.

Promo Only Pool
If you’re looking for diversity, then you might have found the pool for you.
Promo Only offers dozens of different pools based on genre, that range from Dance and EDM all the way to country, Latin, and even contemporary Christian.
They also feature loads of video content for VDJs which is always a clear pro.
One of this pool’s unique features is TrackTrends, which allows users who have the POOL app installed to anonymously upload their DJ history and it will rank the tracks that are getting played the most. The more a track is played, the higher it will climb in the rankings.
As far as the pricing goes, you have several options;
If you decide to go for a pool of just one genre, it will cost you about $12/month. They also have pools that include various genres and those sell for $40/month, and lastly, Video pools sell for $25/month.
Of course, there are many other alternatives, but those are just some examples of the prices.
If you are looking for a specific genre and you don’t want to spend too much, then Promo Only is absolutely worth trying out.
Lastly, they also offer a free 1-month trial (you will need to email them for this).

ZipDJ
ZipDJ has one of the most diverse and powerful libraries out there that any working DJ should consider.
It has one of the largest Top 40 selections out there, as well as a huge selection of drum & bass, dubstep, breaks, trance, and others.
The interface is simple and easy to use, plus it makes finding the artist or song you’re looking for extremely simple and fast.
One of the major benefits of being a ZipDJ member is the ability to download as much music as you need without any limitations.
Now, ZipDJ might be a bit pricier than other Pools I mentioned; however, they offer such a huge library, plus they have over 1700 international label partnerships, which simply means that you’ll have access to one of the largest- or THE largest pool out there.
Sadly, they don’t offer a mobile app, at least not yet!
Lastly, just like all other record pools, they also offer a “Trending Tracks” list that will show you the tracks that have been downloaded the most.

Honorable Mentions
Here are some other DJ Record Pools that are worth mentioning because they also have a lot to offer!
Now that we’re done with the premium services that require a subscription, let’s find out how you can find free music to DJ with…
Websites to Download Free DJ Music Legally
Even though I’d highly recommend you join any of the websites I listed earlier since they provide so much music, there are a couple of ways you can get music for completely free.
In some cases, you’ll have to enter your email address, give a Like on Facebook, etc. but it’s worth it if you don’t want to have to take out your credit card.
Let’s start with Soundcloud.
SoundCloud
Not only is SoundCloud fantastic for promoting your own music, but you can also find high-quality remixes and even original music to add to your own sets.
In some cases, you’ll be able to download the song completely for free, while in some others you might be asked to throw a like on the owners’ Facebook page in exchange.
There are some strict policies against copyright material, but you can definitely get good tracks for free.
Website: Soundcloud.
Facebook Sound Collection
In the past, you used to be able to get free music in exchange for likes on Facebook, but this has become a bit harder to achieve nowadays.
However, there is some great news; Facebook has its own music library where you can download loads of songs of many different genres without having to worry about copyright.
It’s super easy to navigate, you can also browse by genre, moods, duration, and more.
Website: Facebook.
BandCamp
Even though you won’t find lots of big-name producers here, Bandcamp is a fantastic way to find loads of indie tracks from producers and independent record labels that you can download for free or a small fee.
The website is super easy to use and navigate, which makes the whole process pretty fun.
Website: Bandcamp.
Noisetrade
Noisetrade is very similar to BandCamp in the sense that you can download songs and entire releases for “free”.
By “free” I mean that you will need to give them your email address since the whole point of Noisetrade is to help artists grow their email list in order to better promote their music.
Sadly, there are no popular artists or songs here, but you should be able to find some pretty interesting tunes if you put the time in to find them.
Website: Noisetrade.
Jamendo
Jamendo might not be specifically tailored for DJs, but it does offer a ton of free music that you can download.
Additionally, the site works as a portal for music supervisors who are looking to license music for TV shows, movies, and so on.
Again, just like with Noisetrade you won’t be able to find any big Producers/DJs here, but you may find some unknown gem that you can use in your sets completely for free.
Website: Jamendo.
Soundclick
Soundclick is one of the oldest sites to offer free music downloads and it really does offer loads of them.
Not only can you find thousands of rock, pop, and heavy-metal songs, etc. but it also features loads of hip-hop-, electronic-, urban- tracks, and more.
This is probably one of the best websites to download free music from.

Learn how to DJ the right Way!
I believe that anyone can become an excellent DJ by learning everything on their own.
However, sometimes it just makes more sense to learn from someone who has had to jump through all the hoops so that you don’t have to.
There are loads of free videos on YouTube that add a lot of value and that can teach you most of what you need to learn. Here are the two channels I’d recommend;
Now, free content is great, and it even is enough most of the time. However, there are a couple of courses out there that are designed to help you reach your goals faster.
I wrote a post about the best DJing courses out there that will be of help to you.
The ones I’d recommend the most are DJ Courses Online since they offer great quality courses at an affordable price, especially since it’s subscription-based, which means that you can pay for a single month and do all the courses you want.
If you even want to get more bang for your buck, getting the yearly subscription will save you a total of 50%.
Conclusion
In my opinion, you should try out a record pool for the simple fact that you can’t find such great tracks, edits, and remixes, or even so many, anywhere else.
Sure, free websites might be an extra way of getting tracks, but they aren’t as good.
I hope this information was useful.
Have a wonderful day!
Record Pools allow record labels to provide upfront and often exclusive material to DJs in exchange for their feedback on that material.
Basically, you get something to play, and they get the opinion on how the songs actually translate to the dancefloor.
Record pools are legal if they are run properly. They are supported by the Labels who provide the music and also adhere to licensing making sure the artist gets paid.
I Highly Recommend the mashup uk because the versatility of the folders on there has everything from strings to wordplay and acapellas to intros and also the weekend essential are very handy
Greetings,
Can artist download their music directly to DJ Pools?
Thank you
Tusha
